Cultural Events Around the World!


Riga Last Thursdays is a unique and vibrant event that celebrates the arts and culture of Riga, Latvia.

Are you interested in attending something similar elsewhere in the world? While there are other similar events and projects around the world, each one has its own distinct character.


We have chosen five events that share similarities with Riga Last Thursdays:

First Thursdays: First Thursdays is a monthly event that takes place in cities around the world, including London, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Similar to Riga Last Thursdays, it features free access to art galleries, museums, and cultural venues, as well as a range of other activities and events.


Nuit Blanche: Nuit Blanche or White Night is an annual all-night arts festival that originated in Paris and has since spread to cities around the world. The festival features installations, performances, and exhibitions that transform public spaces and encourage people to explore their city at night.

P.S. Riga has its own White Night (Baltā nakts) annual event that usually happens in September!


FestivALL: FestivALL is an annual arts festival that takes place in Charleston, West Virginia. The festival includes a diverse range of events, including music, dance, theater, and visual arts, and aims to celebrate the creativity and diversity of the local community.


Art Night: Art Night is an annual arts festival that takes place in London, UK. Similar to Nuit Blanche, it features art installations, performances, and exhibitions that transform public spaces throughout the city and encourage people to explore their city at night.


Open Studios: Open Studios is a project that takes place in cities around the world, including New York, Berlin, and Barcelona. The project invites artists to open their studios to the public, giving visitors a chance to see their work and meet the artists themselves.



Each of these projects shares some similarities with RLT, but also has its own unique features and characteristics. All of them are successful in promoting the arts and culture of their respective communities and encouraging people to engage with the world around them.
