Maxim Boxer Gallery skatāma godalgotā latviešu mākslinieka Miķeļa Fišera personālizstāde “Aklā humanoīda stāsti”. Kopš karjeras pirmsākumiem, Fišera daiļradi nepamet virtuoza glezniecība, taču jau desmit gadus viņa praksē nozīmīgu lomu ieņem kokgrebuma tehnika. Jaunākajā izstādē pirmo reizi tiek eksponēta trešā kokgriezumu sērija.

Par pirmo Fišers saņēma Purvīša balvu un risināja netaisnības tēmu, ar otro pārstāvēja Latviju 57. Venēcijas mākslas biennālē, un uzdeva jautājumu “kas gan slikts var notikt”? Šoreiz Fišers skatītājiem piedāvā iespēju ieskatīties Aklā humanoīda dzīves pieredzēs, kas metaforiski stāsta par varu un nežēlību, spēku un vājumu, meliem un patiesību, kā arī nedrošību nezināmā priekšā.

Mākslinieku vienmēr ir saistījis starpgalaktisks mērogs, un viscaur savai radošajai praksei viņš ir saglabājis kosmiskās sistēmas un indivīda pretnostatījumu, kas mēdz būt netiešs, bet vienmēr ir klātesošs. Studējot liecības par pagātnes civilizācijām un kultūrām, Fišers ir guvis priekšstatu par nemainīgajiem procesiem; cilvēci pavadošu, fundamentālu eksistences shēmu.

Viņa radītās tēlu sistēmas un attēlotie sižeti acina skatītāju domāt par indivīda lomu kosmiskajā vienādojumā. Šo tēmu iztirzāšanā būtisku lomu ieņem ironija, kas palīdz bez didaktikas un moralizēšanas izcelt pamatmatricas absurdo un iracionālo dabu. Ironija rada vieglumu, savukārt galaktiskā distance ir gana liela, lai rastos jautājums - kāpēc mēs nespējam šo matricu mainīt?

Kaut arī Fišera darbos jaušama asprātība un vieglums, molekulārā līmenī tajos ieausts cilvēces traģiskais kods. ENG: Miķelis Fišers - The Stories of the Blind Alien [Curator’s Tour 18:30, 19:30, 20:30]

Maxim Boxer Gallery presents a solo exhibition "The Stories of The Blind Alien" by award-winning Latvian artist Miķelis Fišers. Since the beginning of his career, Fišers' oeuvre has been virtuoso painting, but for the past ten years the woodcut technique has played an important role in his artistic practice. This exhibition, is a premiere of his third series of woodcuts.

For the first, Fischer received the Purvītis Prize and tackled the theme of disgrace; with the second, he represented Latvia at the 57th Venice Biennale and asked the question of "what could go wrong"? This time Fischer offers the audience a glimpse into the life experiences of the Blind alien, a metaphorical story of power and cruelty, strength and weakness, lies and truth, as well as uncertainty in the face of the unknown.

The artist has always been concerned with the intergalactic scale, and throughout his artistic practice he has maintained the juxtaposition of the cosmic system and the individual, which is sometimes implicit but always present. By studying the evidence of past civilizations and cultures, Fisher has gained an insight into the unchanging processes; a fundamental scheme of existence that accompanies humanity.

The character systems and the scenes he creates make the viewer think about the role of the individual in the cosmic equation. Irony plays an important role in the treatment of these themes, helping to highlight the absurd and irrational nature of the underlying matrix without didacticism or moralizing. Irony creates lightness, while the galactic distance is great enough to raise the question: why are we unable to change this matrix?

While there is wit and lightness in Fisher's work, the tragic code of humanity is woven into it at a molecular level. The viewer is invited to experience the stories of the Blind alien, in which the image and its title are equally important. The artworks created offer both an opportunity to empathise with and distance oneself from their protagonist, while immersing oneself in a cocktail of conspiracy theories and mysticism.

The exhibition also includes painting and is complemented by audio stimulation created especially for this event by the sound artist ERROR.
