1.Pēdējo gadu izstādēs Juris Petraškevičs atklājas daudzveidīgā zīmējumā, formā, faktūrā, žestā un līniju pinumos, materialitātē. Jaunākajā izstādē „Nenoteikti žesti” zīmējumam tiek piešķirta trešā dimensija. Nelielā formāta darbi uz zīdpapīra piedzīvo izmaiņas, smalki kombinējoties papīra materialitātei ar grafītu, pigmentiem, pasteli, akrilu un vasku, pārtopot skulpturālās trīsdimensiju virsmās, kur vienas līnijas ceļš, līniju struktūra, krāsu laukums pats par sevi ir pašvērtība un var būt stāsts.

„Zīmējumiem nav nosaukumu, jo vēlējos tos radīt līdzīgus mūzikai bez programmatiskas ievirzes. Skatītāju atklāsmes, tostarp, arī var tikt uzskatītas par pilntiesīgām šo darbu versijām,” Juris Petraškevičs, 2024.

2.“Gleznu sērija “Atrodot mājas” atspoguļo, cik grūti ir sakārtot dzīvi, saglabāt dārgo un mīļo, un paturēt atmiņas, kad jāuzsāk dzīve jaunā vietā. Darbi atklāj psiholoģiskos sarežģījumus, ko prasa izkļūšana no saviem sociālajiem ierobežojumiem un robežām, iziešanu no komforta zonas un iekļaušanos jaunā sabiedrībā. Māju atrašana ir vairāk nekā tikai fiziskā pārvietošanās, tas ir emocionāls ceļojums. Mantu izkravāšana, birokrātija un bailes zaudēt identitāti padara šo procesu sarežģītu. Tas izraisa reiboņa sajūtu, tomēr veido jaunas atmiņas, un, tikai pieņemot pārmaiņas ar labsirdību, ir iespējams pārvarēt emocionālo attālumu. 1. In recent exhibitions, Juris Petraškevičs unveils a diversity of drawings, shapes, textures, gestures, and the interplay of lines and materiality. In his latest exhibition, “Undefined Gestures”, the artist elevates drawing to a three-dimensional. The small-format works on silk paper undergo a delicate metamorphosis, skillfully blending the materiality of paper with graphite, pigments, pastel, acrylic, and wax, transforming into sculptural, three-dimensional surfaces, where the trajectory of a single line, the interwoven structure of lines, and the colour field itself has its value and can be a story.

„The drawings remain untitled because I wanted to create them in a manner similar to music without a programmatic orientation. The viewer’s revelations, among others’ perspectives, can be considered full-fledged versions of these works,” Juris Petraškevičs, 2024.

2. “The series “Finding Home” describes how difficult it is to pack your life, keep your treasures, and hold on to your memories when you choose or have to start your life in a new place. The paintings represent the psychological difficulties of reaching out of your social limitations and boundaries, coming out of your comfort zone and exposing yourself to a new society. Finding a home is more than a physical relocation - it’s an emotional journey. Unpacking baggage, navigating bureaucracy, and dealing with the fear of losing identity make the process challenging. It induces a sense of vertigo, yet building new memories and embracing kindness bridge the emotional distance. While the past lingers, finding comfort in the present demands persistence, faith, patience, and love.
