Zīle Ziemele (1993) absolvējusi Jaņa Rozentāla mākslas vidusskolu, 2017. gadā ieguvusi bakalaura grādu Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas glezniecības specialitātē un šobrīd ir JRMV mācībspēks gleznošanā, grafikā un kompozīcijā. Zināšanas papildinājusi Antverpenes Karaliskajā mākslas akadēmijā ERASMUS+ apmaiņas programmas ietvaros. Sarīkojusi pusduci personālizstāžu, no kurām pēdējā, ar nosaukumu “Laikrādis”, bija skatāma aizvadītā gada pavasarī Ag galerijā. Grupu izstādēs piedalās kopš 2011. gada. Zīles darbi tikuši iekļauti tādos mākslas notikumos kā “Spriedze. Jaunie latviešu glezniecībā” LNMM izstāžu zālē “Arsenāls” (2016), Starptautiskajā laikmetīgās mākslas biennālē Jeune Creation Europeenne (JCE) Parīzē un Survival Kit 10 izstādē "outlands (ārpuszemes)” Rīgas cirka telpās. 2022. gadā uz Talsu mūzikas skolas fasādes, sadarbībā ar fondu “Mākslai vajag telpu”, realizēts Zīles Ziemeles sienas murālis “Kopā”.

The boundaries between the familiar and the unfamiliar, the acceptable and the incomprehensible. Boundaries in our minds and physical lines that separate territories and underline thoughts. In her latest works, which create a dialogue with compositions created during the pandemic, painter Zīle Ziemele has tried to capture the calming and at the same time anxious nature of sociality and routine. The lulling voice of a TV announcer against the backdrop of the flowing Daugava, the pulsating life of a cut tulip on a table in a room, a chessboard of dough in the process of preparing dumplings, the rhythms of gymnastic mats on a pilgrimage respite. Egg tempera paintings capture the seemingly predictable scenes and desires of everyday objects, and map distances - the distance between objects or bodies in time or space.

The subtle symbolism and reverence for the subject, characteristic of icon painting, entices the viewer to unravel layers of meaning. Through the gestures of Zīle's hands, bodily experiences merge with a longing for something higher. When you look through a fence, are you looking inside or outside? Do the texts in the hands of the evening news anchor really read what she is saying? Is a tulip lifting its head to see the sky?

Zīle Ziemele (1993) graduated from the Janis Rozentals Art High School, received her Bachelor's degree in painting from the Art Academy of Latvia in 2017 and is currently a JRMV faculty member in painting, printmaking and composition. She has been studying at the Royal Academy of Art in Antwerp as part of the ERASMUS+ exchange programme. She has held half a dozen solo exhibitions, the most recent of which, titled "Timepiece", was on view at the Ag Gallery last spring. She has been participating in group exhibitions since 2011. Her work has been included in art events such as "Tension. New Latvian Paintings" at the LNMA Arsenāls Exhibition Hall (2016), the International Biennale of Contemporary Art Jeune Creation Europeenne (JCE) in Paris, and Survival Kit 10's exhibition "Outlands" at the Riga Circus. In 2022, the mural "Together" by Zīle Ziemele was realised on the facade of the Talsi Music School in collaboration with the foundation "Art Needs Space".
