LV: I: "Viņi saka" Marko Mäetamm. “Iedvesmu ciklam “Viņi saka”, līdzīgi kā pārējiem saviem darbiem, smēlos reālajā dzīvē. Man, kā pašnodarbinātam māksliniekam, darbu pārdošana vienmēr ir bijusi nozīmīga. Un kā jūtīgs cilvēks es nejūtos pārāk ērti, kad pircējs sāk kaulēties un stīvēties, kā arī teikt lietas, kuras man īpaši nepatīk dzirdēt.
Tai pat laikā, tā ir daļa no mākslinieka eksistences – dari savu lietu, izliec to publiskai apskatei un vienkārši gaidi, kas notiks tālāk. Kopš savas karjeras sākuma līdz pat šim brīdim esmu dzirdējis ļoti dažādus komentārus no cilvēkiem par to, kāpēc viņi, diemžēl, nevar iegādāties manu darbu. Es saku “diemžēl”, jo tas parasti sākas apmēram šādi: “man ļoti patīk šis darbs, BET…”
Tā nu es kādu dienu sāku šos komentārus apkopot. Šajā sērijā ir daži no skaistākajiem ieganstiem, kāpēc mākslas darbs, ko viņi citādāk patiešām vēlētos iegādāties, netiek nopirkts,” - Marko Mäetamm, 2022.

Šobrīd apgūstu sietspiedes tehniku sadarbībā ar mākslinieci Sabīni Vekmani. Tēmu lokā - sievietes klātbūtne Pasaules uztveres kontekstā. Cilvēka ķermenis, kā prieka un sāpju, zaudējuma un uzvaras izteicējs. Šie sānsoļi paplašina redzesloku un atjauno uztveri,” Helēna Heinrihsone, 2022.
ENG: I: "They Say" by Marko Maetamm. “The inspiration for making the series THEY SAY comes, similarly to most of my other works, from real life. As a freelance artist, sales are always important to me. And as a sensitive person I don’t feel too comfortable when the buyer starts to bargain and argue about the deal and say things I particularly don’t like to hear.
Yet at the same time this is a part of being an artist - you do your thing, put it out in public and just get ready for what happens next. From the beginning of my career till today I have heard people saying very different commentaries about why they cannot, unfortunately, buy my work. I say ‘unfortunately’ because it usually starts something like: I really like this work BUT…
So I started to collect these commentaries one day. This series is a selection of some of the most beautiful explanations about what is wrong with the work they would actually really like to buy.” – Marko Mäetamm

After painting for many years, I’ve realized how important it is to shift focus on other forms of art - besides painting, I also delve into porcelain painting, animation, collage and lithography.
In collaboration with artist Sabine Vekmane I am currently learning the silkscreen technique. Some of the topics - the presence of women in the context of World perception. The human body as an expression of joy and pain, loss and victory.
