LV: Armands Andže, Tereza Faleiru, Kristaps Freimanis, Laima Daberte “Atrastais laiks”  [Tikšanās ar mākslinieku] [Tūre ar kuratoru pēc pieprasījuma]

Lai veicinātu izpratni par kuratora devumu un attīstītu kuratora profesiju Latvijā, Rīgas Fotogrāfijas biennāle – NEXT sadarbībā ar Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas kuratoru programmu uzsāka jaunu programmu – konkursu ‘’Jaunais kurators!’’, kas dod iespēju savas spējas demonstrēt Latvijas jaunajiem kuratoriem. NEXT 2023 “Jaunais kurators!” balvu ieguva Laima Daberte ar izstādi “Atrastais laiks”’.

Kā smilšu graudiņu kolekcijas veidojas atmiņu lauki. Tie pārklāj pilsētas, dabas plašumus un nostūrus. Mēs redzam pasauli caur pašu radītu realitāti. Cilvēka uztverē vietas veidojas no atmiņu un pieredzes fragmentiem. Mazs notikums var izmainīt visu kopainu. Telpā dažādi materiāli pārklāj viens otru, laikam ritot arī atmiņas slāņojas un guļas viena otrai virsū. Tiek pastiprinātas vai izmainītas asociācijas, veidoti jauni tēli. Telpiskā pieredze mijiedarbojas ar uztverē veidoto. Gan atmiņās un apziņā, gan klātienē piedzīvotais ir īsts. Rodas dažādi skatpunkti.

Atmiņu un vietu vienības veido tīklus un sekvences domu kartēs. Dažviet fragmenti domu kartē šķiet slīdam ātri, reizēm “velkas” kā mūžība. Tumsa mijas ar gaismu. Vērotājam telpa būs vienotas struktūras sarežģītāka vai vienkāršāka posma sastāvdaļa. Vieta var reprezentēt kādu citu, tai nelīdzinoties, vai līdzināties ar to it kā nesaistītai citai. Vai var pārcelt ainavu? Kādēļ dažas vietas šķiet līdzīgas? Vai tā ir projicēto zināšanu, atmiņu, domu, sajūtu un iespaidu līdzība? Vai pārceļot objektu, to iemūžinot fotogrāfijā, atnesam līdzi vietu? Izstāde ir saruna par to, kā indivīda uztveres un atmiņu kolāža nebeidzami mijas mūsu visu kopējā telpā.

To promote understanding of curators contribution and develop the profession of curator in Latvia, the Riga Photography Biennial – NEXT in cooperation with the Curatorial Course of the Art Academy of Latvia has launched a programme – a competition offering Latvia's emerging curators the opportunity to show their abilities. The NEXT Emerging Curator! Award 2023 was won by Laima Daberte with the exhibition Time Found.

Memory fields form like collections of sand grains. They cover cities, expanses and corners of nature. We see the world through a reality made by ourselves. In human perception, places are formed from fragments of memories and experiences. A small event can change the whole picture. Materials cover each other in space, and as time passes, memories layer and lie on top of each other. Associations are reinforced or altered, new images are created. Spatial experience interacts with perceptual experience. What is experienced in memory and consciousness, as well as in space, is real. Different perspectives emerge.

Units of memories and places form networks and sequences in mind maps. Sometimes unknown fragments in the mind map seem to slip by quickly, sometimes last forever. Darkness alternates with light. For the observer, space will be part of a more complex or simpler section of a unified structure. A place may represent another without resembling it, or resemble another seemingly unrelated to it. Can a landscape be displaced? Why do some places appear similar? Is it the similarity of knowledge, memories, thoughts, feelings and impressions projected on them? When we move an object, when we capture it in a photograph, do we bring a place with us? The exhibition is a conversation about how the collage of individual perceptions and memories is endlessly intertwined in the space we all share.
