LV: Ieva Putniņa “Torņkalns' Drive”

Ieva Putniņas interešu loks ir plašs – glezniecība, animācija, kino, performance. Vizuāli viņas darbi bieži vien atgādina kādas senākas mākslas tradīcijas, taču paradoksālie sižetu virpinājumi ļauj tiem atrasties pavisam mūsdienīgā pasaulē. Ievai patīk radīt butaforijas līdz tādai realitātes pakāpei, ka atliek vien tām pieskarties, lai saprastu, ka tās nav ēdamas vai lietojamas (bet varbūt ir?). Ieva ir Jaņa Rozentāla mākslas skolas pasniedzēja. Izstādījusies galerijā Low, festivālā MABOCA, Ag Gallery, Rīgas cirka Ziloņu zālē un citur.

Ieva Putniņa’s range of interests is wide – painting, animation, cinema, performance. Visually, her works are often reminiscent of older art traditions, but the paradoxical plot twists allow them to be located in a completely modern world. Ieva likes to create props to such a degree of reality that you only have to touch them to realize that they are not edible or usable (but maybe they are?). Ieva is a teacher at the Janis Rosenthal Art School. She has exhibited at Low gallery, MABOCA festival, Ag Gallery, Riga Circus Elephant Hall and elsewhere.
