LV: Strāvas 5. un 6. numura prezentācija [Izstādes atklāšana] [Tikšanās ar mākslinieku] 

Literatūras žurnāla “Strāva” divu jaunāko numuru prezentācijas pasākumā plānota rakstnieces Ievas Melgalves un dzejnieka Ivara Šteinberga performance, mākslinieces Laimdotas Malles zīmējumu instalācija, kā arī žurnāla 5. un 6. numurā iekļautās dzejas un prozas lasījumi, tostarpt dzejnieka Kārļa Vērdiņa performatīvs lasījums.

“Strāvas” jaunais (6.) numurs ir veltīts hiposubjektiem. “Hiposubjekts” ir Timotij' Morton' un Dominika Boijera ieteikts termins, kas raksturo cilvēkus (un citas subjektivitātes) mūsdienu posthumānajā situācijā, kurā mēs tiešā un nepārprotamā veidā saskaramies ar hiperobjektiem (kapitālismu, globālo sasilšanu utt.), kuri tik lielā mērā pārsniedz mūsu eksistenci laikā un telpā, ka to priekšā mēs esam vāji un tizli. Papildus fragmentiem no minēto autoru grāmatas jaunajā numurā iekļauti literāri teksti (oriģinālliteratūra, tulkojumi un atdzeja), kas orientēti ap šo izjūtu (autori: Svens Kuzmins, Gaļina Rimbu, Anna Belkovska, Anna Auziņa, Ivars Šteinbergs), kā arī vairāku debitantu darbi. Žurnāla 6. numura galvenā redaktore ir Ieva Melgalve.

Vāka un mākslinieciskās daļas autore - Purvīša balvas un “Kilograms kultūras” nominante Laimdota Malle, kuras piedāvātā mākslas kopa būs veidota, sekojot numurā publicēto tekstu tematikai un noskaņai. Izstādē tiks izvietota īpaša instalācija, kas atsaucas gan uz numura tematiku, gan pasākuma vietu un būs apskatāma arī dažas nedēļas pēc notikuma.

Savukārt piektā numura publikācijas sasaucas ar tēmu “Slimība un ķermenis”, tā galvenais redaktors ir dzejnieks Arvis Viguls. Izdevumā pārstāvēti latviešu literatūrā jau labi zināmi autori – dzejnieks Kārlis Vērdiņš ar sonetu vainagu “Ohola Oholiba”, Edvīns Raups ar dzejojumu “Tuksnesis parādes tērpā”, no prozas – Ievas Melgalves stāsts “Pie dīķa aug pliederu krūms”. Jaunāko paaudzi šajā numurā pārstāv Agnese Radziņa, kura debitē gan kā dzejniece, gan kritiķe. Numura tulkotā literatūra paver plašu ģeogrāfisko apvārsni – Turcija, dzejnieka Gjokčenura dzejas kopa, Urugvaja, Felisberto Ernandesa stāsti, Zviedrija, Kristīnas Lunnas dzejas kopa Arņa Mincenhofa atdzejojumā, ASV, ievērojamās fantastikas un fantāzijas autores Ursula le Gvinas stāsts “Tie, kas aiziet no Omelas”, un Izraēla, Jehudas Amihaja dzejas cikls “Mīlas valoda un tēja ar grauzdētām mandelēm” Edvarda Kuka atdzejojumā.

ENG: Presentation of issues 5 and 6 of “Strāva” [Exhibition Opening] [Meet the Artist] 

The presentation of the two latest issues of the literary magazine "Strāva" will include a performance by writer Ieva Melgalve and poet Ivars Šteinbergs, a drawing installation by artist Laimdota Malle, as well as readings of poetry and prose included in issues 5 and 6 of the magazine, and a performative reading by poet Kārlis Vērdiņš.

The new (6th) issue of "Strāvas" is dedicated to hyposubjects. "Hyposubject" is a term proposed by Timothy Morton and Dominic Boyer to describe humans (and other subjectivities) in the contemporary posthuman situation, in which we are directly and explicitly confronted with hyperobjects (capitalism, global warming, etc.) that so transcend our existence in time and space that we are weak and crippled in front of them. In addition to excerpts from the books of these authors, the new issue includes literary texts (original, translated and re-translated) oriented around this sense (by Sven Kuzmin, Galina Rimbu, Anna Belkovska, Anna Auziņa, Ivars Šteinbergs), as well as works by several debutants. The editor-in-chief of the 6th issue of the magazine is Ieva Melgalve.

The cover and artwork is by Laimdota Malle, a Purvītis Prize and Kilograms Culture nominee, whose artwork will follow the theme and mood of the texts published in the issue. A special installation will be installed in the exhibition, referring to both the theme of the issue and the location of the event, and will remain on display for a few weeks after the event.

The fifth issue, however, is based on the theme "Illness and the Body", and is edited by the poet Arvis Viguls. The issue features authors already well-known in Latvian literature - the poet Kārlis Vērdiņš with his sonnet crown "Ohola Oholiba", Edvīns Raups with his poem "Tuksnesis parade dress", and from prose - Ieva Melgalve's story "Pie pīķa aug pliederu busm". The younger generation is represented in this issue by Agnese Radziņa, who debuts both as a poet and a critic. The translated literature in the issue opens up a wide geographical horizon - Turkey, the poetry set by the poet Gjokcenur, Uruguay, stories by Felisberto Hernandez, Sweden, the poetry set by Christina Lunn in Arnis Mincenhoff's translation, USA, Ursula le Guin's story "Those Who Leave Omelas", by the renowned science fiction and fantasy author, and Israel, Yehuda Amichai's poetry cycle "The Language of Love and Tea with Roasted Almonds", translated by Edward Cook.
