About

LV / No 24. līdz 27. februārim Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas (LMA) Korpusā Nr. 2 būs apskatāma gleznotājas Ievas Stalšenes personālizstāde “Pieaugušie vēnas negriež”.

21:00. Turpmāk tā būs pieejama skatītājiem 25., 26. un 27. februārī no plkst. 14.00 līdz 19.00 LMA 2. korpusā (ieeja no pagalma). Izstādes laikā skatītāji varēs tikties ar autori.

ENG / From February 24 to 27, the Latvian Academy of Arts (LAA) Building No. 2 will feature the solo exhibition “Grown Ups Don’t Commit Suicide” by painter Ieva Stalšene.

The exhibited series of paintings were created during studying in the Master's program of the Painting department of the Latvian Academy of Arts. Although each is made in a different technique and materiality, they are united by the story of the temptation of darkness and the struggle for self-preservation. "The exhibition is about the processes that take place when you don't want to live, but you also don't want to die. When I came across the phrase “fu*k art”, it was clear that I was on the last frontier, but I knew cutting veins was not an option, so I went for a run.” says the artist.

The exhibition will open on February 24 at 17:00 and will be open until 21:00. Afterward it will be available to the public on February 25, 26, and 27 from 14.00 to 19.00 in the 2nd building of the Latvian Academy of Arts (entrance from the yard). During the exhibition, spectators will be able to meet the authors.
